The largest national park nearest to the Victoria Falls is the Zambezi National Park – 56 000 hectares of wilderness, home to a variety of animal and birdlife. Zambezi National Park is a few minutes away from Victoria Falls town, and runs adjacent to the Zambezi River upstream from the Victoria Falls and almost to the Kazungula Border with Botswana.
A short game drive in the Zambezi National Park is a 4 hour trip either early in the morning or in the afternoon. It begins with a pick up from your accommodation and then you are taken to the entrance of the Zambezi National Park. Here, you will need to settle your park entrance fee before heading into the park. You expert guide will drive you deep into the wilderness where you may encounter the African elephant, giraffe, zebra, kudu, buffalo, sable, as well as predators such as the lion and African Wild Dog, plus a colourful assortment of birdlife.
Morning safaris come with a light breakfast with tea/coffee, while the afternoon trips include light snacks and limited drinks or beer.
This activity is available all year round. However, during periods of heavy rainfall, game drives may not be possible. While game drives are family friendly, a maximum of six people may be accommodated in a single game drive vehicle.
